Hello. I'm recently a new member to the forum, but I do read many of the threads. I have been driving tractor trailers since dec 2011. I'm out of Louisville KY. I have a question about multiple driving jobs. Currently I'm an OTR driver for a local outfit. I get 2500-5000 miles a week as a driving team. My cousin called me up the other day and he tells me that he has a buddy he knows that has a truck and trailer and he needed me to drive 15 miles to pick up/ deliver freight. IS THIS OKAY? Or can I get in serious trouble if caught. Thank you for your help in answering my question

This is wrong in so many ways. I'll just give u one and hopefully it convinces u to say no. Say that load has an illegal substance stashed in it and u get caught. Now the company u drive for is out of business. And it's all on you

My question to you is why would I get the company I officially drive for shut down while doing this side job ?

Bull dog did you not see his friend has truck and trailer? I'm assuming he is asking if he can drive his truck when he isn't on duty for the other company.

As I read it..... He's using a different truck.....NOT the truck from his OTR job

That's correct. I'm not using fuel or truck of my OTR job. I wouldn't do that. That's betrayal and just plain wrong and theft

You can do it but you will have to log the on duty time.
