You can certainly try that, and if it doesn't work just go to the dealer that you found the best price at and see if you can haggle them down some more from what they are advertising it at.

Are you buying one off the lot, or speccing it out? If you spec one out, send the quote sheet to a few other dealers and ask for their best price on it. If you're buying one on the lot, it can be more difficult to make apples to apples comparison as every truck is custom. When I buy a new car, I call and email dealers in the state of FL for their best price. I was out the door (tax, tag, title)with my 13 Pathfinder Platinum for under the sticker using this method, and did the same for my '10 Murano.

Well from my experience most of the used trucks that have low mileage because the big companies sale them and buy new and when your buying 4-5000 trucks a year you get a really good discount!!!!!
and there are a lot of used trucks because most drivers are going to work for companies and the old timers O/O are hanging it up so there's really no one to buy them.... As far as def, I'd say as long as you can still buy glider kits you'll still be able to get around the defTwicebit Thanks this. -
Good info. Hoping to buy it off the lot, need one in a week or so. Yeah i get the call around part, just with a regular car there are tons of site that give MSRP and a value estimate, but for new trucks the only site i know of is TruckPaper so wanted to make sure that i'm not missing some other good sources to gauge the price.

Stay away from freightliner!!!!!! They are always in the shop for electrical problems.... As far as pac-car I wouldn't buy anything with a PAC-CAR engine I've heard one to many nightmares about them the rest not real sure about I liked the Prostar and 660 as far as ride that 660 is the best riding truck I've ever been in but Prostar is very roomy really like the inside of a classic which I loved.... But Prostar is the best turning truck I've been in..... Mack I personally don't like there made for hauling rock not freightTwicebit Thanks this.

Don't know of what you are talking about, but I'll google "glider kits". Thanks

Truckpaper is your best bet. Make sure all the prices you're comparing include FET. I think I'd try to buy a t680 over the t660 though, unless you are looking for a deal, as I'm sure they are discounting the t660's to move them. If you let us know what state you're in, maybe someone can chime in with a good dealer nearby.

I have a lot and I mean a lot of experience with dealerships, I can tell you that "stock" units usually have a 10k mark up on them. Dealers will move a little bit but not a lot, if you want a smoking deal on a new KW find a left over stock unit. I.E. they are building 2014 year models now, look for a 2013 year model, or even a 2012 chances are high that they have been sitting on that truck awhile. In regards to the folks talking about the 13 letter poo spreaders those are junk you couldn't pay me to drive a pro star. Do they have the some of the same engines axles rears ext? Yes!, but how that technology is applied is what is key! I think Paccar (kw, Pete) have done a outstanding job in dealing with fuel economy and reliability through all this pollution junk. Speaking of pollution junk the cummins protection plan 1 and after-treatment coverage are priceless! Best of Luck!
Twicebit Thanks this.
