That's not very unusual for Texas. Some of the bigger companies top out around $18 for vacuum truck. Most oil field driving jobs in TX arent necessarily high paying, but you make up for it in overtime. Smaller mom and pops tend to pay more but the work is often not as steady.
If you want to make more you need to move on to hot oiler or pump truck. Some crude haulers can make much more if they're with the right company. -

Slip seat? I know thats one thing my husband didn't like about a chip compnay he worked for, the other guy was never "on time" but expected my husband to be. ( he was also a slob) -
I am an owner op hauling crude. I have been offered jobs hauling water and $18 to 20 is norm around my area.

yeah slip seat. aint bad. one pos is just like another pos. but we are replacing em with new trucks.
he wouldn't have to worry bout that stuff. here you drive whatever you can. work as long as dispatch tells ya to. screw the other driver, plenty trucks to choose from. -
It is well in west Texas anyways 17 is the low of the low end avg is 20
