A van every bit of framing works together. I'd say the stub of the pole took out some cross members and with that max load she was all over but the crying when she buckled. You know he severed the airlines and the tandems locked up.
In his drunken stupor he probably downshifted and gassed on it. :)

Went back by there when i came in this morning, looked like he ripped them out on the sign post. Think it was the same company that dumped the load of brats a few weeks ago.

so i only have a few months out solo and have encountered a few of the roundabouts...i take them slow and easy and I'm always peeking at the rear drift and I'll be dammed no matter how hard I try, even when there is no one around, i still grab a little bit of the other lane. Good news is however, i'm not going over any curbs.

he must have been going pretty fast and those paper loads are heavy too... looks like an equation for a lot of force.

The idea behind the structure of a trailer can be demonstrated with a piece of oak tag, the thin cardboard you used to make posters in school. By its self the oak tag is very flimsy but if you fold it into a long square or rectangular tube, and keep the ends square, it is quite rigid.

This can be demonstrated by a simple experiment. If my memory is correct. The box was supported on each end by a brick and bracing to keep it square. We inserted three thin facing bricks into the box to simulate a uniform load and it supported it with some deflection, but when we stacked the bricks the box collapsed.

Yep, it was alcohol. And only 22 years old...

De Pere Police: Alcohol a Factor in Morning Semi Crash

DE PERE, Wis. -- De Pere police say alcohol was a factor in a crash that involved a semi truck this morning on Ashland Avenue.

According to a news release, investigators say the 22 year old driver tried to navigate through a round about and hit a support post for an overhead traffic sign. The impact split the trailer in half, spreading a large amount of paper and debris over Ashland and Parkview Road.

Officers had to close the road for more than 5 hours to clean up the mess. There were no injuries reported.

the trailer could have been a rust busket. and on top of that, be willing to bet tandem pin wasn t locked into place. so when he went to brake, rear tandems slid all the way back suddenly, slamming into the backstop. plus the fact that its a reefer trailer(notice propane looking tank on the side), and he s got paper, which is always a heavy load, usually 45000 lbs. unless he was at a 1/4 tank, he couldn t scale out. probably a couple thousand pounds overgross. know of a driver at my company that happened to, they ended up letting him stay. he had to pay the 250 deductible. turned out his trailer shouldn t have been in svc to begin with. the crap some of these companies give u to drive/pull
out here livin the dream.......yea right.....be safe and keep the shiny side up!!!!!!
