Knight Refrigerated now has a driver training program. Before this, they only hired experienced drivers. The school takes individuals interested in trucking and trains them in all aspects of the industry. They ask that you get your CDL permit, and they can take it from there. Imagine that? getting paid to get your CDL.
Recruiter ALERT...LOL
No, I am not a recruiter, I am a driver that wants to see fellow drivers get into this industry without those expensive loans.
I know two trainees in the KR school right now. They seem happy to me. If you choose KR please enter my driver code WPARK as a referral on your application.
Here is the link to the program:http://www.driveknight.com/pc/Training/index.html

Bonus will get me a doughnut or two...lol -
The minute you give a driver a referral bonus he/she becomes a recruiter in my eyes.
At that point would have to discount anything good they said.realoldsmoke Thanks this. -
Recruiter ? yes but still driver so that person is not going to tell big fat lies, cuz if it were bad job (for him/her) they would not be there. And in this case he has been there for years.... must be ok job for him....realoldsmoke Thanks this.

You're prolly right... But then I wouldn't want to have to figure out what parts of what he said was True, and what wasn't.
When I left my last company, I talked to a Knight Driver, thought about giving them a call until he told me he gets a ref. bonus.realoldsmoke Thanks this. -
everyone gets a ref. bonus....... i get one too... would you sign on if i told you all the bad stuff ?
After all it's trucking and there is always some bad stuff, it just depends on the person as to what is bad or good.
i once talked to a driver who had been with Werner for years and said it was best trucking job he has ever had.... i looked, he was not bleeding from the head or smelling like cheap wine. But after that statement i felt the need to checkrealoldsmoke Thanks this. -
Isn't that CDL school just for drivers living in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, El Paso? Or can anyone, living anywhere apply? Looks good, $100.00 application fee and everything else financed. $400.00 a week while training on the road.
realoldsmoke Thanks this. -
I filled out and app last week and they called me once and said they would call me back but never did. Guess you gotta chase the recruiters there. LoL!
realoldsmoke and Chinatown Thank this. -
Living in WV, contact Howard Transportation. It's a good company with one of their terminals in WV. Smaller company with 150 trucks.
