My intake temp shows around 115f when pyro is around 900.
-
Mine gets up in the 160s especially if I don't turn the fan on. I don't remember the stock one getting past the high 130s. Seems to run at least 20-30 degrees warmer than stock cooler.
-
Just removed A/C, air to air and pressure washed them and radiator a week ago. Tested cooler and piping, no leaks. I could never get the clamps to quit leaking on each side where the bolt tightens, so I double clamped all the boots. Put the clamps on 1/2 turn from each other.
-
Did you do any other performance mods at the same time as adding the duralite ?
-
Would have to check when I put turbo on, but I think it was a year or so after the duralite.
-
Do you think it is a sign that mine is leaking if it's running much cooler? I thought the temp would be higher if it Leaked.
-
I honestly don't know what leaking would do to the temp. I built a tester out of PVC. Make sure to get the heavy wall stuff though. I use a glue on cap to plug one side and glued a pipe fitting into a reducer for the other side. Put a T on it with a gauge on one side and schroeder valve (tire valve) on the other. I double clamp them. My 1st attempt I drilled and tapped 2 holes in a thin wall cap for the gauge and valve. DON'T do that, it didn't go well. Mine only gets that hot on a long grade, with fan on 150s.
abtrucker Thanks this. -
Wondered why fan came on, on small hills where I split to 17th and water temp only climbed a few degrees. On large grades I turn fan on manually at the bottom. -
Suffering from same problem.... Any one of you found the root cause? Of higher intake temp.
TIA
