I think I would pack up and head somewhere else if I was asked for those.

I just started flatbedding last week.. I'm new and student driver O/O.
I wouldn't know what extra items you would need , I bought all of mine. Company should be providing most of it.
From what I experienced so far....
~You will need Babey Powder/ Gold Bond (self explanatory)
~You will have the best work out!
~ Tarpin wont be bad like it was at first (you will get the hang of it)

Good luck! Your going to have fun :)

  5. Tarping is an art form. It will take u years to master the ability. Being able to cover the object as well as not damage your tarps at 60 mph is an art.
If you have never picked up certain objects. ASK! Questions from the shipper.

Flatbedding is not throw it in the box and drive. check your load! And securment devices. I have never turned another driver away for asking a question.

On a side note. Did anyone mention a good collapse able ladder?

No one mentioned a ladder very good idea ease of getting on and off trailer. Tarping is going to be my biggest challenge as I have never done so. I have broom some extra tarp straps good gloves hard hat safety devices as well some extra ratchet straps and chains binders I am not taking many of my own as the company will replace any at anytime they claim.

I buy the cheap leather gloves at Home Depot ($1.98 each) and sometimes they last a couple of weeks and sometimes not. And it always seem the same hand wears out so you can't swap out with another old pair.

Coming from a fat man, you won't need that too much after you get the hang of things. You start learning how to work smarter, not harder, and you dont get that feeling after a little practice. ;)

I actually wont mind the excersize as I could stand to lose a few pounds well more like 50 but i dont see that happening just by running flatbed
