Is there a reason certain makes of trucks aren't seen often in the oilfield?

I hate sleepers in the oil fields. Lots of time in reverse. Like all the visibility I can get. We have kenworths with c-15s and macks with 13 speeds and mp8 505 hp
-
Me personally I like the extra room with the sleeper, day cabs are too cramped. KW's are small anyway. It's nice to be able to take off your jacket & hard hat and toss them back there. I don't have a prob backing, although my power mirrors do get a work out.
-
I just wish Halliburton would outfit their Kenworths with bigger engines. 350-380hp just plane sucks.
-
i would never want to run a truck in the oilfield without a sleeper. fracs break down ###### happens and you can sit for hours. day cab and oilfield are two things that don't go together in my opinion.
iv run darn near 300" wb's in the oilfield and always got the truck in any place i needed to. a tight turning truck is nice but there are some pretty good turning trucks with sleepers on them out there. -
yeah but i bet they spend a lot less money replacing drive lines and rear ends than the guys that spec 550hp trucks
if i where to purchase a fleet of trucks to put driver trainees in, in the oil field id probably spec 350-400hp 4.10 rears and 9 speeds.
as far as a truck to run myself in the oil feild the big hp and 18 speeds are king. -
If I were to purchase a fleet of trucks I sure wouldn't put driver trainees in them.

Compared to the Freightshaker and Kenworths I drove, the Mack I drive now is a workhorse MACK-daddy. I like it head over heels compared to the other trucks. I'm a fuel-hauler but granted, not in the oil fields.
-
i wouldn't aether but Halliburton does. point being though its a lot harder to break #### when you don't have any hp
-
Yeah here in Alberta I see mostly T800s and Western Stars, but Canyon is mostly Pete 367s, which I actually like a lot.
