Multi I80 Dot

I wasn't aware if any significance to the last week in July being a concern for accidents on I80.

Is this concern in a particular state, section or all 2900 miles of it?

 

Just went through WY, UT and now in the middle of NV... We have seen no indications of any 'increase' in activity... I think it's either a bunch of hype or centered further east...

 

When I was receiving qc messages a couple months ago about the dot "blitz" I didn't see a single trooper in any of the states I was driving in.... Little too far south to be worried about i80 at the moment anywho...

Yeah, theres been alot of emphasis on the I-80 crackdown here in Nevada, all over the news. Supposed to be going on till the end of the month. From what I can gather the troopers are mostly looking for speeders, texters and phone users.

This effort is a state police program all across I-80, NOT DOT or specifically aimed at trucks.

 

Supposedly a big crackdown all summer long on I70 from WV, OH and IN. Same deal, texters, speeders and unsafe driving in general. I've seen nothing but the usual LEO's looking sadly at the bottom of an empty donut bag before firing up the radar gun.

 

I guess this explains the increase in officer activity I say yesterday in iowa on 80

 

It depends on the state law enforcement budgets. No moola for cop boondoggles means they're not out there boondogglin'! LOL!!
