So, the private schooling is of the table because they want $5000 up front for the 4 week classes. They will go through financial aid and I do qualify, but it cost even more and it is 20 weeks long without any pay. The financial aid only pays the academy for the school and I'm on my on driving back and forth 100 miles a day to school 5 days a week. That is also paying my on gas and meals to survive. I do have the convenience of my own house 20 weeks, but that is a while to go without a pay check. My savings want cover the gas and meals for 20 weeks and with the hours of the school a part-time job is out of the question if I can even find one. So, going to have to go with a company paid CDL school and clueless on which one to sign my butt to. Very confusing situation because I don't want to pick a company that just ain't for me. I feel the pressure my classmate felt when he was the star athlete all these colleges was chomping at the bits at. They all are going to lie to get you to sign the line. I just want to sign with the one that is right for me. I don't mind the away from home time because I want to drive and make the money. I also want to not be broken down in a piece of you know what so equipment is priority also. I really don't want much classroom time either because I just got burnt out on that in college. Finally, I don't want a dozen students to instructor ratio. I'm on a tight budget right now also so anyone got the experienced good advice on the best fit company paid CDL school to sign my soul to? To you guys with the knowledge and experience put yourself in my situation and pretend you was starting over again and tell me what you would do please!!!
This is my situation. Any advice would help about picking a company with CDL school!!

any one of the big co. offer training. there all about the same. find the one that sounds like it will the best for you. but remember one thing you won't make much money for the first 2 years. I would think that most co will want a one yr from you at lest. this is not go to school and step out to the high end of the pay scale. that takes some time.

Thats a lot of "i don't want to" written in your post lol
One thing i would do if i were in your shoes is go to private CDl school even if i had to borrow money or get a loan. You should look into a good school that can actually get you pre-hired with few companies while you're still in training.
This way if you're not liking a company while you are there only few months there is nothing holding you to look elsewhere. Now this is only my opinion but thats what i would do (actually did).
Also look around your city/town for a smaller companies to hire on that would call you by your name and not a number...
Hope this helps answer your questions at allbkm0179 Thanks this. -
just an FYI, trucking schools stating PAID cdl training...aren't actually paying you during training at all, they mean the cdl training is paid for...you start getting paid when you drive with your mentor

The cheapest route is Prime, then Central Refrigerated. JBS Carriers will send you to Roadmasters but I think you have to pay for your motel.
Prime even fronts you food money if you need it. Swift and Knight are good also, but Prime is the cheapest.
