I was utterly amazed at the traffic and worst-driver scenarios unfolding in front of me the first time I went to Washington DC... and I've lived in Southern Cali--they got nothing on the ######## that happens in DC. Worst place I have ever been in the truck and I truly hope I never get to go back. Crazy part? I was on the belt loop, I can't even imagine what its like closer to the center.

I've also found that people in Texas are just flat out f'n crazy. I wouldn't say they are "good" drivers per-se, but they certainly know how to whip around each other at 70+ mph. I was just in DFW about two weeks ago, and I was surprised in several instances a five car pile up didn't occur.

Yeah right, horrible I got a Prius that we bought very cheap, I drive at 73 daily and I get about 53 mpg consistently. If I slow down, I can hit 57 and on bad days when I am against a stong wind, I still get 50.

My former Jetta would hit 47 at best at that speed. I took it to Florida one year and I was lucky to hit 45.

Oh and I don't hypermile for anything, I drive the Prius as I drive anything else.

As for the worst driver, they seem to be the ones who are easily distracted or confused or just plain stupid.

Yesterday I came off of west bound I-94 at State st in Ann Arbor, there are three lanes - one for south bound state and the other two for north bound. I was behind a reliable auto carrier truck who went into the middle lane, he could have gone into the left lane like I did but appeared to be in the proper lane for trucks to go north. The light turned green we started to roll and all of the sudden this idiot turned right in front of everyone to go south, almost taking out the car in front of me and cutting us off. Now I've taken that exit with one of my drivers with a trailer behind us, the left turn is very easy to make with a truck but I can only figure out that this idiot was texting or talking on the phone and not paying a bit of attention - he should have gotten a ticket for this stupid move.

The worst drives in my area are those with dealer plates. Second are those with Livery plates.

No, but I have noticed my wife has turned into a really bad driver....tailgating at night right on the bumper of the car ahead of her. I asked her about it, and she said she can't see very well at night and has excessive flare in her eyes from lights at night......OK, now I drive at night and never let her drive at night. Now I know why she pulled out in front of a vehicle one snowy night, and luckily the other car could slow down so as to not hit us.

Texas drivers hands down.. Even LA was a refreshing change.

Probably because Texas roads are the worst designed POS ever.
