Makes a good point usually takes 2 or 3 months before an item goes up for repo if its the first especially since the economy went down hill lenders have been more forgiving then before

Finance company will work with you, the last thing they want to do is repo your truck. A big thanks to VFS they have been working with me to catch mine up. I am 4 months behind. My truck was in the shop having all the injectors and cups replace when I broke my leg They even picked up the cost of repairs and rolled it into my payments. So for someone to sa they repoed my truck for no reason or it was only a couple months behind thats bull

As others have posted , this guy was BEHIND more than 1 payment , but opted to go on vacation :). Chances are that MAYBE the TRAILER was collateral on the truck loan and if so the BANK / FINANCE outfit had the right to take it with the tractor.

If the trailer wasn't attached to the loan, then get a lawyer and go after the bank, not the repo guy. Repo guys usually have a lawyer who is just like them - slippery and hardnosed. Banks have expensive lawyers who wear expensive suits, drive a shiny car, prefer to settle than get in someone's face. And they cost a lot. Cheaper for the bank to settle it instead of paying a lawyer a lot more money and eventually losing.

Isn't it just easier to pay your debts then go through all of this???

I'm sure I'll get lit up for this so I'll add if you have somehow been incapacitated in some way you have a legit reason for not paying debt you agreed to.

True, They will work with you only when it is their best interest to take the vehicle back. Let us say the balance of the loan is higher the value of the vehicle but when it is the other way around such as my friends case where the loan balance was about 8k but the exactly same truck can be sold from 39-49k I say good luck with your idea of them working with you.

No matter who you are or how well you manage your affairs, soon or latter you will run into something you didn't plan for it.

Seems he planned ok for the EUROPEAN VACATION :) you mentioned.

Never had anything REPO'd but never defaulted on my finacial obligations either.
