Talking to your passenger or on the cb, drinking and eating are also distractions. A lot of the laws have nothing to due with safety and are about revue enhancement. In CA a $20 ticket can end up costing you $160 with all the fees that they tack on,

I am not a tin foil hatter really, but I do believe that the government is obsessed with knowing what you are doing every second you are in the truck. I believe there will be a day when a camera is trained on the driver all the time he is in the seat, per DOT regulations. Then you will answer questions like "why did you look angry at 2237 hours on Thursday?" or "why did you light a cigarette without pulling over?" Or "your eyes stayed in the same position for longer than 3 seconds" They already call you if you pull over and they think you might miss your appointment. Is this other stuff that far off? I just wonder where it stops when they are already asking for your cell phones, you know what I mean?

Nothing against you personally but I see many officers of the law breaking the same laws each and everyday without so much of a word about punishment. So whats the difference?

Well considering officers of the law are held to a higher standard then us lowly truck drivers I would expect the ones my tax dollars pay for should be punished severly. Do I as a tax paying citizen have the right to pull over an officer I see talking on a cell phone while driving and give him or her a triple fine amount?

The answer is YES YOU DO!!! It's called "citizens arrest"...if you feel you can prove in court your accusation, you can have the officer write himself a ticket, issue the ticket to him, after telling him/her that "signing this ticket is not an admission of guilt, but a promise to appear", then bring your video with you into court and prove your accusation.

The conviction will cost that officer much greater than 3 times the amount, it will cost him "X" amount of unpaid time off from work, plus it will be in his/her personnel file for his/her career!

To all of you "tin foil hatters"....have you ever exercised your rights as a citizen, or just stood around the coffee clutch counter whining and complaining about everything you think is wrong? I see...it is so much easier to complain, whine and cry, rather than do something with or for your rights!

This one surely will land one in the hotel they have with bars. Probably charge you with interfering with a police officer.

Different how when we can be pulled over and inspected "on a whim"....that could be construed as a Federal offense....interfering with interstate commerce....which is a crime BTW!

Why do you think, that military loads get passes on HOS, speed, axle/gross weight....everyone thinks it is because of "national security"...REALLY(???), that troop transport armored vehicle being relocated from Kansas to Washington (state) is part of what national security force....?????

MORE TIN FOIL ....more stock in Alcoa please!!!!
