caught on red light camera!!!

    hello everybody!!

    i made the stupid misstake of going thru main street in victorville,ca instead of to go around on the highway 18.

    for the one who know the area, i got caught by a camera on bear valley road at the last light before entering the 15.

    here is what happened.

    i was hauling limestone, i was 79800 gross weight, and i m goin slowly to the white line before the intersection, light still green, no traffic blocking the intersection , oh well i go, once on the middle on the intersection, a ##*** idiot pass right in front of me to be able to get the I15 entrance , and make me almost stop, of course, it take me a year to re-accelerate, and on top of this the light turn yellow, and turn red right when i m in front of the flash, and what i expected to happen happened.... i saw a beautiful flash getting me right in my face.


    now whats next.... am i going to get a ticket? there is nothing i could have done, this is just being not lucky, but i did not burn a red light cause i was in the middle of the intersection already... im thinking if they are a minimum intelligent i am not going to get a ticket. but i d like your point of view....

    If you are across the stop line on the yellow then no ticket. The photos are reviewed for that in particular.

    Were you able to see a red light from behind your wheel? If answer is yes, you'll most likely get a ticket in mail (whom ever the truck is registered will get it through mail with your picture)
    Just remember those cameras only take a picture when someone goes over the sensor when light changes, they can't tell if you were driving or just sitting at the intersection...

    Friend of mine got one in west chicago when he rolled over the sensor at the red light. He was an O/O and just paid the fine didn't bother to fight it since his state was not bordering Illinois. Can't remember what the fine was since it was in 2010

    That is a case with cars, but him being 70-75 feet long and if the intersection was small it could mean trouble.

    Just what A21CAV said. I've also been caught with the "flash in the eye" many times, but the photos are reviewed before any final determination if a citation should be issued. If any part of your truck is in the intersection when the light turns from green to yellow, without doubt you're "safe".

    I've never received a traffic camera light ticket, but been photo'd many times, especially down on Hwy. 59 around Marshall, TX. Get caught in the intersections a lot by cars running lights or slowing in front of me. Evidently, they review the photo's to determine the outcome. Pulling a hazmat/tanker, I'm sure they would have ticketed me if I as at fault in any way.

    I think there just fines not actual tickets. They are only fines in my state but Cali could be different. I got one for running a light and speeding in my state and only got a fine nothing on my record. I could be wrong for Cali though.

    Thanks everybody for all your answer, unfortunately, here in cali, they charge over $400 fine and 1 point on your license witch is insane...

    I knew since the beginning I should have got the highway, but when no traffic, main street is better, but I got not lucky. Hopefully I don't get a frame picture on the mail.

    Why are you throwing in the towel already? If that's the case, why did you even post? You are not guilty of any infraction IF it went as you described. If I was not guilty, I wouldn't accept any fine or ticket... they'd have a fight on their hands for sure.
