I did orientation this week. My truck is in the process of getting ready. They had a few issues to fix for me. I don't start till August 12th. I am giving my present employer 2 weeks. They did not mention anything about the new pay program. I like the idea of not paying for the refer fuel.....we will only have to fuel it up on a drop , not when we pick it up. As far as the deadhead miles at .90 ...that's OK, that will more than cover the fuel but it says "authorized: empty miles......is that at their choice? Plus the fuel surcharge is on loaded miles only.....Not sure what to do just yet......
There were 4 of us in orientation....1 going to Southwest, 1 to Midwest, 1 for Northeast and me to Atlanta.....Last edited: Jul 28, 2013
Frank Acavano Thanks this. -
I think the idea of mileage pay is the poor idea for someone who wants to be an owner operator. Mileage: pay screams forced dispatch. With every load pays virtually the same your objections to how crappy account are negligible.also under mileage pay you don't game the advantage of higher rates that our salesman should be fighting for. That's not a Sunco specific problem, but all carriers fighting for better rates.

Anyone know of any place to park around Pompano Beach. Going to Martin Brower

I think "authorized" empty miles simply means the miles their system shows from where you got empty to the new pickup - if you go out of route from that, it's on you. I had a 175 mile deadhead the other day after getting empty in Winchester VA - down to Roanoke...the first 150 were on me, the last 25 were paid but I haven't seen that settlement yet to see how much they pay for those 25 miles. That'll help me make a decision about the straight pay as well...

LMB, the closest rest area SB on 95 in FL is about 3 miles south of exit 110 - not close to your destination I know - I think Pompano's around exit 38 or 39...but it's slim pickins' down there. If you run the turnpike, the W. Palm Beach service plaza is TURNPIKE exit # 94. There is also one IN Pompano Beach as well, Turnpike exit # 65. Check it out: http://www.dot.state.fl.us/statemai...ea_Listing.shtm#West Palm Beach Service PlazaLMB Thanks this.

Pompano farmers market. From south i95 x36b. Right off of ramp. Go to 1st light turn right and then right into driveway. Parking is free at the back of the building.
