Is it pretty common for companies not to allow passengers? I'm looking into KLLM and like the OP I might want to bring someone along on a run, and frankly, I'm sure I'd enjoy the company.:yes2557:

Mostly it has to do with their insurance company's. I think most company's will allow someone to ride after 6 months of safe driving. Ya most company's say immediate family but I am sure as long as you get them ok'd by safety first you can get it approved in some cases.

Okay, that's reasonable. While I would definitely like the perk of being able to bring a rider along, I don't think I would rule out a company based solely on that policy.

    Thanks for the info!

KLLM has a rider policy, you just have to pay a nominal insurance fee, and have experience first.

Do you happen to know how much the fee is? Is it reasonable? Specific for each ride or do you pay it constantly?

    Thanks!

I can't remember, but I think it is $10 per month, and you can pay just for the specific months that you have a rider.

Some companies allow girlfriends, others only allow wives. KLLM allows any riders over 12 I think.
