Clutch or brake switch?
-
what do you mean about of the clutch?
-
being as how the engine brake is designed to come on with the gas pedal off. i don't think there's a clutch or brake switch involved.
-
yes, i thing is something electrical troubleshoot, like pedal gas or a damage wire.

Is the engine cold when it is doing this? The engine brake does turn on to help the engine heat up quicker unless it is turned off in the programing, but as soon as you touch the throttle it turns off. How do you know its coming on? Is it something you are hearing?
-
it does in cold or hot. No message on dash. When start idling the engine brake try to engage and the engine low rpm from 700 to 500 for a few seconds and then release. it does in idling every minute or less.

Well if everything was working according to Hoyle I'd agree with you. But there's obviously an electrical issue so what's supposed to be goes out the window.

We have had some a couple of tractors do that. On ours the tractors idle would drop, then it would blow out a lot of black smoke, and then the epg would shut off and the idle would return to normal. Its hard for me to remember what caused it, but if I am not mistanken we had to put a new egp on it. But I am not certain if it was the EPG itself or the controlller that is mounted to the frameor engine block depending on year. It was a couple years back.

Well, the engine brake got activate 3 times and i must pulled over. I disconect the EPG and fixed. I could continue to my deliveries withouth engine brake. I think is this valve is falling.
