Its an old car dealership, lots of room to park. Dont mess with the shop. Unless they changed since Ive dealt with them to pick up my truck, theyre just all standing around playing jokes on eachother most of the time. Didnt check out the showers while I was there though, let me know.Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

Finally made it to WVC after the bus ride of fun from ATL. All-in-all it wasn't too bad, I just don't like to ride that long without driving myself. There was a bunch of people going to CR and a few others from another Central school. I felt bad for the CR guys because we heard CR was going to take only a few of the people for school and send the rest back...I don't think all those guys knew that. Anyway, I was impressed to see all the trucks at the terminal, including all the pro-stars Central is getting rid of. I'm just glad I'm off that bus...lol
Lady K, smadronia, jomar68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That bus ride is, um... character building.
Arkansas Frost, v46 and smadronia Thank this. -
I know what you mean...I told some of the other guys here that it was motivation to pay attention in the last part of class so you could pass and drive yourself out of here.

Great point. It doesn't have to be an 8/2, a 2/8 works just as well and how often do you get out of a 01 or 99 in less than 2 hrs?Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

The bus ride gave me some of the best stories to tell people. Well, until I was robbed. And went to Brooklyn. And had my life threatened. And Went to Washington DC and got lost in a residential neighborhood. But the crazy dude at the Butte, MT bus stop is a fantastic story.

Haven't been robbed or threatened yet, so the low point of my life is still curling up on the concrete floor in the St. Louis greyhound station to sleep.

I'm glad that when Central has needed me to travel, they have always said, "The bus ticket costs $ xx and a plane ticket is $ xx. You're welcome to fly if you pay the difference."
You can help the CR England guys, and they can help us. Remember that they go to many of the same places and have similar equipment, so they use the same shops we do.
I've jumped on the CB to ask a Local CR driver, "Hey, do you know where is the nearest Thermo King shop in this town?"
Of course, there were the summer nights we'd park at CRSWVC, and talk trash with the CR England drivers on Channel 5. But that was all in fun...Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
Ok, not to call anybody out but I've been turning this over in my head. Notice no one thanks posts about not wanting to fuel the trailers?! Because its a huge pain in the ### for the person picking it up if anything goes wrong!!!! I have been trying to get home all weekend because there's a little man who just turned 8 that doesn't understand the concept of "work". He just knows there and not there. It's also the anniversary of my girlfriend's mother dying which is (understandably) a crazy time for her. That being said, the place I picked up at loads trailers based on weight. So, this empty trailer is packed full and I'm grossing 79,920! What's better is I can have 300 over on the drives, 280 over on the trailer, or screw with the 5th wheel and be 180 over on my steer and who knows what in the back. Needless to say, running a half tank of reefer just so I can run 50 gallons at a time is aggravating to say the least. Yes, they should have realized "ain't got no diesel in it!", but they didn't. So I could have gone back and fussed about a rework and spent all day getting it fixed or run with the knowledge that if I don't really pay attention to where I'm fueling, I could end up with an overweight ticket. All because someone couldn't figure out how to put fuel in the trailer!! I have to be home so it is what it is and I'm running. Central sends you a turn by turn route, free directions, and a detailed list of fuel stops, USE 'EM!! Also, there's a CAT scale locator for smart phones. It can find you something within 30-40 miles in a pinch. I keep the paper list in my visor just in case there's no phone service and I got held up in traffic. Oh and wash out your trailers while you're at it!! Blue Beacon has an app as well or just ask your DM where the closest washout is if you're too lazy to hop back there for 5 minutes with a broom! You need to work with a purpose but being a spaz that screws people over to shave 15 minutes off your day is not helping anybody. Ok, end rant.
Lady K, passion4polishing and Treputt Thank this.
