Well I'm glad you got it moved.
I talked with my on buddy at Miller about it.
He said if it was a tracked drill rig they might not do it.
But glad you got it moved and everybody is happy they got their unit..

Those drill rigs can be killers as they are extremely top heavy.

I just don't understand how you could try to sell that for $8k with a straight face? At $16k your customer got off cheap! Dollars per mile don't mean jack in short haul heavy haul, especially in the Northeast. I'd love to see the CT routing, since with my 8'9" wide load they have me getting off 95 and running back roads to get to 91.

I never intended to sell it for $8K. That was just the base. All extras were extra. It would be impossible to price it accurately and competitively with an all in price. If I had been off by just 5%, I would have either lost the driver, or overcharged my customer. This way, we have a starting point, extras can be added, and the final line haul can be negotiated to a point at which everyone involved is happy, nobody gets raped and we all make a few dollars.

Of course the extras were extra on a move like that, and at that price. I'd hope the extras were extra on top of the $16k too. It's costing me almost $500 in permits and escorts for a legal weight, 8'9" load from Queens to Mass that I'm on right now.
