    Hello,

I am rejoining the flatbed field after a 2 year switch to reefer, I am considering buying a freightliner cascadia 2012 with cummins isx 450hp and only 160km on it, and it comes with 13 speed tranny. What do you guys think i should do get this truck? Also what should i consider when buying a flatbed.

    thanks guys
    :)

I like the isx,I don't like the freightliners. I've had so many of them,my brain still rattles. But there are a lot of people that do like them.

Cascadia gets better mpg then any other stock truck on the road. Good choice. I'd go for the Detroit though instead of the ISX. Detroit has a better track record and the isx have a lot of dpf problems. Detroit will get higher mpg to.

I'm getting 7.9 80,000 lbs on my ISX but you have to drive it right and watch that gauge.

I'd watch the gearing. Lots of Canadian trucks get geared kinda strange. Some of those salesmen are thinking about 10 years behind. There's a 2013 Coronado in Lethbridge that has 11/24.5 and 3.90 with an 18. It seems that's OK if you'll never drive over 60 MPH, but that's not very likely. That truck had been sitting in their lot for over a year. No wonder.

That's impressive. Do you have a one year average MPG?

tire size is 22.5R and gear ratio is 3.42, however i have found another truck which is a freightliner casaadia as well detroit dd15 engine and has gear ratio of 3.7 and same size tires. miles on this new cascadia i found are 350k with facttory wrranty. I have a decision between the two. I think both are good but i need your help i will be driving in the california mounutain as well as plain roads, hills etc. pulling flatbed and reefer.
