DONT DRINK THE COOL-AID!!!!
I really dont know what to tell people anymore but i wish someone was here in beaumont im starting to turn down as many loads as im moving, Think thats how i ended up with all them trucks in the first place!!! -

I don't know the inner-workings of Anderson, but there must be some truth in Bayou's statement. I can't imagine how you would be seeing $2+ running in the Midwest. Freight is not great right now, but certainly you should bee seeing 2.00/mi on loaded miles.SHC Thanks this.

i'm starting to think the reason people are hauling cheap. is becuase of the pickups out there. and i'm starting to see a lot of them.
they're pulling 48 foot trailers with standard semi loads. although probably not as heavy. but the trailers DO have 3 axles.
today at the wyoming port. to dually's were hauling them oversized mobile homes.
starting to think we're the dumb ones being in a semi when everyone else is doing out job in a dually pickup. and probably getting 12 mpg. or better.
what would be the weight them things can haul? anyone know? -
here's a pickup roaming around the parking. pulling 2 trailers loaded with cows.

It depends if you go by the GCWR, or just the GVWR and trailer GVWR. They should be held to the GCWR as close as the GVWR. I think most dual wheels are GCWR of 26-30,000lbs.snowwy Thanks this.

that's just signs of the times. If fuel continues to go up you'll see all sorts of small truck type rigs for lighter loads. Insurance is a little prohibitive, but I've considered setting up my pickup for commercial and keeping a trailer around. fuel @ 0.66/mile vs. fuel @ 0.22/mile you're darn right they can haul cheaper and deadhead farther for the loads too.

I keep staring at my dually every time I get home and wonder how much money I could make with it. But by the time I add a trailer, my tow rating get cut in half. Someday I will find a aluminum trailer.
