What happens if they get shut down because of high BASIC scores before the 12 months is up? Their Unsafe Driving BASIC is 92% and they are already on e-logs.

PTL runs manual transmissions. Someone made a comment about the BASIC score. If you knew how that worked you would know that that score was for the prior two years. They are being regarded because of the changes in the company. Like not having Tractors with over 300,000 miles. They are replacing them. But you cant do it overnight. Think of all the things needed done to each truck. Decals, APU installation, Quallcom. Checking every nut and bolt for tightness. Too many things to count. But they are purchasing new International Prostars in lots of 450, and 250. Going to all Prostars. I have been driving one for the last two weeks and love it. Check the company out on your own, do not just take a persons word. Ask drivers at truckstops who drive for PTL.

Yes I have been away for awhile. Two reasons, one had to get my laptop repaired, two busy, busy, busy. As for Phase II. I go solo tomorrow at 4 am. To be honest, it has been very tough getting along with another guy jammed into such a small space. We all have our own way of doing things, and when another person crowds that space, it can be tough. But, we made it. I was just wondering the other day how many guys who start Phase II together make it to the end. We started on Aug 1st and today is Sept 30. Two whole months. But we made okay money. We had between 3100 and 6400 miles every week but one. Labor day week. Now for you guys who happen to be PTL trainees, I have some advice, if you really want to make money and have your dispatcher (Fleet Manager) always get you loads without the wait. ADVICE: Never have a 34 hour reset. (I have only had one in two months) Now, to do this you must drive + on duty a total of no more than 9 hours each time you are on duty. To do this start 8-1/2 then 9, 8-1/2 then 9. and so on. At the end of 8 days you will be at zero. Now on the 8th day at midnight you will get 8-1/2 back. So you drive 8-1/2 and so on. This makes you available all the time. Now if say one day you only drive 6 hours. Do the extra time the next day. Just be judicious with your time. Don't run yourself out of time. Plan ahead. I know you can't do exactly as I described above, but if you watch and don't waste your time it works out. Well gotta go for now. Going into the solo I will have more time to post. I will post more. Later

Good advice on using recap. I wish someone had given me that info when I started; I wouldn't have been stuck between the shipper and receiver with a service failure so much. Many drivers use the reset as mini-hometime if your driver manager can make it happen.

its really all about training, isn't it?
