Depends on if you have any of the other indicators for sleep apnea besides your neck size.
scottbrat Thanks this. -
if you do have any of the other symptoms then i would recommend doing the sleep study, i was happy when i did and was found to have a severe case of sleep apnea, since being treated im a whole new person. If they company pays for all of it then definitely do it, I wish someone paid for my machine since they are very expensive depending on which ones are prescribed, being severe I have the bpap and mine is a $2k machine. Some cpaps are like $800 which is still expensive.

Thanks Wolfyinc. Im in Denver looking to get into trucking. Just unsure who would be a good starting company. Ive been approved by Swift, Werner, And stevens but have read alot of bad stuff about those. Is there a good starter company that you recommend. Id need a company that also has a school.

Prime's a good place to start. Beats all you mentioned by quite a bit. $600 per week before taxes during training (after you receive your CDL,) and we start you at 41-cpm with 2500-2800 miles average.scottbrat Thanks this.

I have thought about applying to prime, heard you get fuel bonus's and stuff too?
Right now im trying to get local to be with my family more, sucks being away from my kids for a month to 6 weeks at a time. -
I plan on coming to Prime after the beginning of the year. I have been researching and love what I have found so far.
My question is about the machines. I was diagnosed with Apnea a 2 years ago. I've had weight loss surgery and gone from 380 to 270 currently. I have an auto cpap machine that automatically regulates pressure. I probably need to have another study since my loss is currently at 100+ pounds and still moving.
My machine has a card as it is a newer model. Will they let my continue to use it or will I have to buy theirs.
All this probably won't be relevant if I get a new study soon like I want to do before i quit my job and lose my insurance. I have a feeling with my weight loss that my apnea is resolved. I just hate to waste money on something I already own if I still need to use it. -
For those with previously diagnosed sleep apnea, you must be under a doctors care- and obviously with a recent sleep study. Yup, you'll need to get another study before you come to Prime. Also you'll most likely need a letter from your doctor describing your treatment and as they say, prognosis. You'll need to show your machine's usage, and I'm not sure what percentage of the time you have to be on it. You might search the Prime forum for that... I know it's been discussed. Your machine will need to be compatible with the Sleep Pointe software that is installed in many truck stops so you can download it periodically.Charlami Thanks this.

Thanks IP. I will check out my info on my machine when I get home. I have a doc so study is not a problem at all.
Thank you for posting great info not just here but every other category I read too. Your dedication is to be commended. -
I didnt even know they had stuff at truck stops for that
I was diagnosed last September, finally got my machine in January and I use it every single night since then so I dont worry about compliance. I use it since I sleep better and feel better. I have been losing weight easier since being treated too, the sleep study doctor said the worse your apnea the harder it is to keep weight off, I believe it from experience.
