A friend of mine beat a red light camera ticket a few years back. Apparently you're allowed to question the witness to the offense and since a camera can't talk it can't answer your questions. When my buddy requested to question the witness the judge informed him that was impossible. He reminded the judge that by law he had a right to confront his accuser and the judge tossed it out. Good luck.

Doesn't always work. It's all been in the CA Appeals and Supreme Court for some time with multiple cases and multiple arguments. People have won and lost with the same arguments. They usually have an officer give a statement as the "witness". Screwed up, but it usually works in the court's favor. They even recently passed a law to remove any use of privacy as an argument to having your photo taken.

If you're already in the intersection when it goes off you're fine. Had it happen to me before a couple times in Victorville on D street and 7th. Usually some idiot pedestrians running right in front of traffic from the AM/PM there and not at the crosswalks. Never received a ticket.

You most likely could easily beat it if you're a company driver and the truck is not registered in your name. If it's sent to your company and they say you were driving you still can beat it. A written affidavit, which is what the form your employer would send to the court saying it was you, cannot be used against you in court. The prosecutor would have to subpoena your employer to testify it was you and they're not going to go through all of that for a red light ticket. That's even if there was a clear picture to begin with which many times they're not. It has to be a clear picture to convict you. Even if they wanted to use something like your logs to prove it they would need a subpoena.

Never drive down Bear Valley Rd unless it's the middle of the night. The Nisqualli interchange will help alleviate some of the traffic. Even then there are only three main roads that cross the river and Bear Valley being the middle of the three forces a crap load of traffic down it. When I was local I parked my truck just off of Bear Valley and never actually went down it.

You clear of it going down on your drivers licence, they don't bother tracing the vehicle driver for company vehicles as it would take up to much time. They tend to just write em up as a big parking ticket.
I had a few in Cali as thatsv were I'm from that never came back to me.

Lots of times I wouldn't even notify the company. They would always seem to just pay them off wene they renewed the tags. Same with parking tickets.

Out of all my years of driving I think one of my companies made me pay for one parking ticket.

If you were under the light, It may be possible that they didn't get a plate. Your smilling face does not have much value in who to send the ticket to.

Cameras aren't set for the length of the truck.
I get pics all the time of my tandems.
Cameras think someone behind me is running the light.
If anyone actually GOT hit with a red light camera ticket & "conviction", I'd love to see it because I've never heard of one going through.

In Ontario, Can. if you are partially through on a yellow and it turns red in the meantime, just carry on through, no ticket.
