I hit a rather large bull elk about 3 weeks ago.

There was a few elk alongside I-90 (Montana, Garrison Junction (mm 174).. a common place for them to be found); it walked into the middle of my lane , looked at me, and started backpeddling. It couldn't decide which way it should go. Then its hind legs slipped out from under it and I hit it dead center on my grill. I left it in one piece in the middle of the lane, with only a small puncture in its back. Likely broke its neck. The next morning there was no piece larger than a fist.. scattered across the highway.

I had a cattle-guard that night thankfully! And was able to finish my run. Shop said it was $6-7k in damages.

If it walks, runs, crawls or flies I hit one or 2 of 'em.

Some enjoyable ones (no damage) were the swarms of cicadas the year of the Fukushima meltown.

The Mallard that hit my passenger windshield, then hung there for a few seconds from wind pressure and slowly slid off the side of my hood.

The hugh-jass coon in East Texas that I swear made the wheel go air-born.

And the pheasant I hit in my jeep was delicious, as was the doe I nailed in my car.

Turtles I usually stop and help them cross the road before some meanie comes along.

And then the dog or cat that breaks your heart because you couldn't stop in time. Well, not cats so much!

Almost hit bigfoot a few weeks ago running 89 in CA after a mudslide closed 80. That black bear was atleast a thousand pounds...Came charging at the cab and I maneuvered to avoid it..Luckily when he didnt hit the truck he took back off for the hills. I had 41k worth of paint in my set so I was bracing for impact or of one of the pups rolling if I had run him over..

In my old International sb I 77 in southern Ohio. Had a buck run out of the median and run head first directly into my driverside fuel tank. He dented the tank, broke one of the straps and got hair and crap all over the side of the truck. All in all not too bad, I bought a polished tank wrap too cover the dent and re welded the strap. Hopefully that will be the worst I encounter. The buck did not leave a suicide note.

My windshield got covered with Monarch Butterfly's in Illinois. All at once. I peed my pants. Millions of them at once. Can't see anything. Scary thing @ 70 mph. 25 years ago. Some kind of bird hit my grill, a Vulture went through my passengers side windshield. A sea gull killed my headlight on my motorcycle. Other than that, not really.
