Funny you say that, when I went to culinary school there was a guy in my class who left the movie scene, he did audio for a lot of big movies and made a ton of money, drove a nice mercedes suv and was always out blowing money while we were there. Not sure if he stuck with the culinary field, I would assume he probably went back where he made a lot more money and easier work. -
What, Nik only took ya to the nice places???????? lol
-
Would have been helpful if you told us what company you worked for
-
I don't see why.Trucking is trucking and its not going to get better no matter where he goes because he had already deciding this isn't what he wants to do for a living.

Most likely in a month or 2 he will be back as an O/O with truck & trailer paid for running empty back from the West Coast just to show a load broker he did not like or need the quoted rate

I don't think he mentioned all of my pet peeves...
1. Drivers will go into a truck stop with 20 urinals and walk into a stall where I might want to crap later and pee on the seat.
2. Lot Lizards banging on my door all night in West Mephis. I hate this, leave me alone.
3. Forced dispatch of "0" miles to move a trailer for my company. In another words, working for nothing.
4. Lumpers that take 6 hours to load or unload my truck forcing me to violate my HOS. Company forced me to deliver when I know they are going to take that long, because they have set an appointment.
5. All the show heads missing in Laredo, TX.
6. Dealing with the company mechanics and being stuck at a terminal.
7. Dispatchers that have an attitude, some of the ones I have dealt with think they are way better than us sorry ##### drivers.
I could go on and on, but you get the idea. You either need a job real bad or trucking is in your blood...
Driving the truck is the good part.fr8te_sh8ker Thanks this. -
If he's going to post this long thread then I want the whole story. Starting with the name of the company. It's weird that he comes on here & gives a weird reason like VIBRATION as a reason he is quitting trucking. Most starter companies give you a new truck, they don't vibrate. Maybe the company he worked for was a small company with a very old truck. From his post....it sounded like his biggest problem was that he was too old for trucking.
People always come on here & say this or that then disappear. The best thing he could do for his fellow drivers is to come on here & say what he wants to say then stick around for a few more days so those of us who care can understand better his experience. We can learn from his mistakes, etc.allniter and technoroom Thank this.
