I know exactly what you are saying. We were never bothered by any inspections or checks because they knew we kept our trucks up. It also helps when you provide a truck to them for training.

Yeah our equipment is very very well kept too, very few up here run crap. And the ones that do, pay for it big time. -
The guys that weigh gasoline trucks know there can be no standard weight given because of temperature. Plus no two trucks weigh the same. I'm surprised to hear that a large company would strip a truck down to weigh it. I always weighed with a full fuel tank and all the gear that went along with that truck. Our problem was finding a scale that would weigh the whole truck. The nice thing about working there was any driver could take the truck to the shop if he or she felt an item needed to be repaired. No time wasted in asking for permission, just fix it the right way and get another load.

I haul Jet fuel and AvGAs, we have to do a density check with every load and every compartment. The customer and the rack then adjust their records. We just load 8000 gallons for a full load(even though we can haul more) or less depending on the customers needs.
