Bro, I could make money at.30 a mile with the miles and the Freedom. I meant to ask annual salary for a guy that's been running hard, however I was informed the starting rate is .35 per mile thank you man appreciate your input though

I think world traveler gets his info wrong I don't even work there no more but its 35 cpm to start plus guess reason they charge for chains is if some drivers sell them they would be out of the money it was no big deal to me I check back time to time on here cant believe the rumors people start I made good money at the river but had a family illness pop up had to take a local gig to be home yall be safe out there

I've done the local, and Long, they both have there advantages, and disadvantages. And your right south pointe , you get a real earful of job jab at those truck stops, it's easy to filter tho, I've made up to 83,000 hauling gasoline local NJ , and up to 70,000 hauling Chemicals everywhere, but both of those are lots of work, 7 load and unload a night on gasoline, and acid suits, and unhook tractors to pump the chemical , IRT looks like a country ride for $$$$$ !
I'm getting to that point I life , I need less work . Thanks Brother ! Stay Tight! -
I didn't see any rates on their website. My neighbor drove for them up to 2012 and told me that, but then he was wrong if its 35. It would be helpful if companies would post their rates to let drivers know.

it's .35 to start, but they take about .10 for per diem, so on your pay stub it shows something like .25 for line haul and then on another line it shows travel reimbursement and you'll have your per diem on that line.

they take 25$ a week out if they give you chains total $250.

Hello. I currently driver reefer for another company. My ideal job would be to drive from Central Florida to SoCal and back. One week I would be in FL, the next I would be in CA. I don't mind stopping along the way, as long as I keep making progress towards either coast. For example, a run from FL to TX and then TX to CA would be fine. I also wouldn't mind staying in the southwest or southeast region for a few runs while waiting for a cross country load to become available. Can this be done with IRT? Thanks for any info. I have started reading this thread, but I wanted to ask this question right away. Thanks again.

Good luck with that, Roadrunner. We had the same plan when my husband was with IRT. One family on the West coast, one in FL, and we asked for a run out West a lot. Rarely happened though. You'll be spending most of your time on the East coast, either running back and forth in the New England area, or running from FL to NJ. Sometime we were told to go to the Midwest and we would supposedly get a load there to go West, but most of the time we would just run around the Midwest states for a week or two. Then they would send us back to either FL or NJ. One time after doing runs between Indiana and Illinois for 2 weeks, we were sent to Texas with a promise of a run to Los Angeles after. We were sent to Clovis, NM after that, where we were told that there are no runs going to CA from there. Ended up going to FL again.
In the 2+ years I was with my husband and IRT, we saw the West maybe 6-7 times. That's our personal experience with them. Maybe you'll have more luck. -
naw, thats not going to happen with you just starting out with the company.. there's too many drivers that's been here for a few years that want the same thing. gotta wait your turn in line hoss.
