I hope someone can finally shed some light on this... I see this at almost every truck stop. The following occurred during a 34 hour restart... I wake up, the trucker beside me was sitting in the driver seat, staring out the window. I went to eat at a restaurant, took a shower, returned to truck, he is still sitting there staring out the window. I watch a couple of movies, go online and post on a few sites, read the news, talk on the phone, he is still there. I walk to a nearby store and buy some supplies, come back, take a nap, wake up a couple of hours later, look, he is still there staring at nothing. All day and all night he sits there like a mannequin doing nothing. WTF is this about? These are the kinds of drivers who say that they hate trucking I bet.

Was he alive? Seriously. I have wondered the same thing several times. I can't do that. I need to do something. Take a walk or anything but sit there.I'm out here alone and i miss my family and just sitting there would really put me in s bad state of mind, just waiting, staring as the hours drag by. I just don't get it either.

Did you check for a pulse?
Or you could put a mirror under his nose and see if it fogs up.

He was moving while looking around. Obviously if he didn't move at all I would have checked on him.

He was contemplating the soul that he no longer has.

Or figuring out how many hefty bags you'll fit in next time he catches you looking at him.

I knocked on the passenger side window once. A driver next to me was sitting at the wheel all slumped over. He was playing video games on his phone. At least he wasn't an Angry Bird at me. I told him I thought he may have keeled over or something. He thanked me for checking on him..haha. Gotta take the chance and make sure sometimes.
