I drove for Wiley three years. Quit when my youngest son died suddenly. Yes, the equipment is old. Yes, the experience in the yard is awful and the shop is pretty much as they describe it. That being said, I always had plenty of miles 3000+. I was always able to get time off when I needed it. I had a dispatcher who is probably the best in the business, Lee Outlaw. Lee was always honest, always treated me with great respect and worked with me any time I needed help.
I havent seen the bottom of the toilet yet! Wiley Sanders Truck Lines

Love that dispatcher's
name! Yes, I went by the yard some years ago and it looked like a salvage yard, but they keep plugging away. I seen their trucks come into Sanderson all the time up in Moultrie Ga.

I know Lee and got along good with him.. But when covering a loadwas more important than getting a brake chamber fixed on my tractor as an O/O.. We didnt see Eye to eye anymore.. Great guy, loads are first. and miles do suck!!!

This was pretty much the way it was when I left in 2008. Glad I didnt stay and waist anymore time here.. I got out with almost 2 yrs experience and went on to bigger and better things.Last edited: Aug 3, 2013

No its gotten worse because your truck that was 5 yrs old is still there.
And some steering wheel monkey is driving it today at 12+ yrs old.
Trust me when I say you did the right thing by getting gone.. Good for you, I wish Id have left that dump sooner myself. -
I see 1 or 2 of their trucks a day, go by here.
All I see are the newer trucks.
Are they steadily getting better ? -
Well they started adding a few new trucks when I left, but even if the whole fleet was new at this point Ill never go back based on everything I know about them personally. New trucks dont make a living,Its good not to have them broke down all the time, but youd be surprised how many steering wheel holders are content with the world with one..

Yea no dought, newer trucks is just scratching the top of what YOU as an individual needs to make a living driving a truck.. If your time away from home isnt payed well enough through benefits, pay and MILES!! Youll instead of going broke driving junk, youll go broke driving a newer truck!!

Well hes either a driver or Company plant in here doing damage control. Alot of what hes saying I can tell you wasnt the way it was when I got started. Hes either young and dumb, or a company recruiter or personel. I can be whatever truck going down the road too.. You had just better be right about how you describe it, and its plain to see this guy is sorta lost.
And lets face it, the Company knows what trucks they have, but recruiters may not know much about the truck...
