I feel that GFS would be very comparable if not worse than Sysco. I know that Sysco has an on site mechanic from Peterbilt, also when I talked to the people from GFS they were adamant about working Saturdays and that the 4 shifts per week may not be congruent. They said I may end up working Mon-Tues-Wed-Sat, so there is that to consider.
edit1* Sysco also told me if I started with them I would start nights, from 10pm-8am for a minimum 3 months while GFS told me I could choose either days or nights. GFS said day shift starts at 4:30AM and is out of the warehouse by 5:30.
Sysco also has a slew of automatic tractors while GFS is solely standards.
