Hello all. I have a question for any experienced TMC driver out there. I sent in my application and just waiting til Monday to call them. My question is about the orientation and training process. They say their experienced and apprentice driver orientations are separate. I'm just wondering how long an experienced driver's training would take. I have been driving for 9 years now, 2 of which are flatbed. I loved every minute of it, until my company closed its doors. Hopefully I get accepted to TMC and get out there and make that $$ and enjoy the open road freedom
question on orientation

Maybe two weeks after two or three days of orientation.

It's a week here in Des Moines they will do company policy , load securement and some driving, then you will be sent out with a trainer for a week or 2 depends on you ability and grasp of all the knowledge, hope this helps!

With 2 years recent flatbed experience I doubt you'll have a trainer. 3 days orientation, drive/back test and you're on your way.

That would be nice. I loved hauling flatbed. I did a lot of oversize loads but my company never used chains. We used straps on everything. But I'm a quick learner so it shouldn't be bad at all. I just got accepted today. I'll be starting the Tuesday after labor day
