Central Refrigerated Truck Stop II

When I look at their website it only shows me they have schools in Fontana, Ca, Salt Lake City, UT and Conley, GA.

 

Saw this and thought of the past topic... Sounds like a DM we were discussing...

 

The issue will be that it is not a close blood family member. Normally the standing on their head to get you there is with Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Child. That is it. I am sorry for your loss, I know that your wife could use your support. That is pretty much industry wide btw.

 

Was just curious if recruiters are notorious for not calling back or not getting back to you, or if I'm just being impatient, or both. Seems like if your job was to get people enrolled, you might do a better job staying in touch with people. I know I'm not the only person in the world interested, but I feel my recruiter just isn't that great at staying in touch.

 

None of them are. It's kind of a game trying to get one on the phone after first contact.

 

They've got a constant stream of applicants. Most of those wont even make it through the training. It doesn't get much prettier once you're out here. I was preset for 2200 tonight. Then my load got changed with another driver who couldn't meet their schedule and I was running to grab a 1300 load. Since I showed up 40 minutes late, central paid the late fee of $100. But now the customer gets to take their time loading me and I won't see a dime for sitting in the parking lot idling all day. Luckily it's only 90 degrees today so I can stand to turn the truck off every couple of hours. But I've been in this situation for up to 8 hours before. It's part of it, but definitely a messed up part because I know there are plenty of drivers who can't manage their finances and it's a stack of days like this one that ruin them. Not griping really because I can live for about a month without pay and still be fine. I don't plan on that happening, I'm just annoyed that forward progress is on hold until next week. Oh well, movies and snacks until a more profitable day gets here...

 

contact megan bennett she answered my emails and all phone calls right away. and i waited like 1 month plus till i went to central and she answered me the entire 5 weeks. never had i not gotten a answer from her

 

ok so otr trailers go OTR right? ok why are rail trailers so crappy? they just go on a train from one state to another. i dont get it.

 

Is there anything better that being lied to? Freightliner in ft. Worth told me my truck was ready several hours ago. I turn in my rental car and get a ride to fl to pick up my truck and they tell me its not ready. I'm supposed to be in ft. Smith, AR tomorrow by noon (which won't happen now), I'm stranded at fl, and no one can tell me what's going on with my truck. I've been sitting since Friday. Tomorrow morning someone's getting an earful. Change three parts and paint one and it takes a week? Ridiculous.

I've been hearing this a lot, and be prepared for one more thing that will suprise you:

When you land in SLC and the shuttle is supposed to pick you up, it doesn't show up and you have nobody to call. Happened to me and I remember a lot of drivers saying, "If this company can't even get me from the airport, what's going to happen when I'm stranded in West Undershirt, NJ?"

But don't worry, my friend. You will finally be in for a treat when you see the luxurious accomodations at the dorms. Don't forget to tip the Valet.
