You are showing over 8400 in fixed cost per month. with total cost being over 24000. either you have a lot of typos in your chart, or are just making up numbers. there is absolutely no way a single truck operator is going to have costs anywhere near that. such out of whack numbers have the effect of people dismissing everything else you state. which is a shame because you have some good thoughts in there.

Which column you looking at.
The one I think, that's an annual TOTAL -
I'm totally with you on the essence of what you are saying here. an old truck always costs less to operate than a new truck. I would state it's even more so due to your figures being too high for component replacement. I've rebuilt a handful of engines and even with new injectors and turbo have never seen prices at ten thousand, let alone twenty. ten k is also very high, for that price you get a new head, turbo, injectors, water pump, air compressor, fuel pump. bull gear. etc etc.

What's your labor worth. Never forgot that

it's in post 24, plainly stated as monthly. does have an annual fugue also, of 298 THOUSAND.
I couldn't have 300 thousand annual cost if I was deliberately trying to drive my cost that high. -
That number's also in South Africa and not the US, right?
-
my labor, is time, and tho very valuable to me, you can not attach a dollar figure to that our it throws if your entire cost and p/l statements. until the irs let's me start deducting for time investment, I will not consider the time in the cost breakdown. and I believe those that do, are doing themselves a disservice.

Those aren't even my numbers

I am hauling a specialized trailer that is dedicated to a specific product for a specific customer. the customer is charged for me to come back empty.
Good for you , now I hope you REALIZE I was talking of the ones who were not getting paid nor anyone getting charged $0.00 / mile for them to run HOME empty.

and my original statement wasnt addressed to you either, but you answered so I replied. the one I did quote you on was about the cost of old truck vs New I was in agreement with you, as I said in that post. I only differed on thinking your prices for repairs are to high. so it's an even greater savings.
