Wow. That sounds like a rough time and quite the first impression made for you.

 

Got home yesterday. DM was totally cool with my insta-home-time request. Would have taken a 34 (err 45) anyway, but it was nice to get home for my Grandfathers birthday. Kind of felt weird to be home just randomly without much of a plan, but I'll take it and enjoy a few beers along the way. Be back in WVC on Thursday night, hit up the roach coach for some carne asada tacos and then get back to burning up them miles.

Anyone here if Treputt made it home?

Whoops, I made a doosey. Got my paycheck, noticed it was short 600 miles. I always keep my loads in a little notebook, so go thru and check off the ones i got paid for, then notice one is missing, search thru the scanning history. look thru the images, realize, I sent all the paperwork in for the load i didnt get paid for, but scanned a different loads envelope. Yikes. Glad someone caught it, guess i need to stay caught up on scanning and not do a bunch at once. What can I say, were all human.

 

I am so glad that I don't have to attend an actual safety meeting anymore. Now, it's possible they'll try and get me to do one in November when I end up in Fontana, but I think I'm going to be too busy to do it. It's not like they'll pay me for the safety meeting even if I do go, so why bother?

 

Central doesn't have a school in Washington State. Swift might, but I don't think Central recruiters are sending people to Swift schools yet.

 

Have you looked at how beat up and dented most rail cars are? Think they are going to treat equipment that doesn't belong to the rail better then their own?

 

Keep doing that, Chris. In fact, I would encourage everybody to do that for a reason that you may not have thought of yet:

I still have my notebook from 1998. Sometimes its fun to flip through it and remember all the places we've been. "Hey, I remember going into those caves for Nestle. I remember sitting at that dock for three days. I remember that first load into Canada."

Keep that notebook. It will bring back good (and bad) memories later on.

 

I heard on Sirius today, and saw on the internet that you guys were bought out by Swift. That sucks.
