Nope, just saying that that should be figured in, it is part of the payroll after all. It was kind of a joking post anyhow.
$600/wk guarantee while training a thing of the past?

Exactly. My statement was for Free CDL training for a new driver with nothing taken out of your check and driving a reefer. Flatbed drivers make a lot more, but earn every bit of it. The original post simply asked if there was $600 a week while in training which Roehl pays $630 per week. All good companies will pay about the same or everyone would jump ship and switch.
-
No one was asking about Roehl. In the original post, the next post or the following 13 posts. In fact you just decided to chime in around post number 15 with Roehl "this and that"
What does Roehl have to do with a Prime question, in a Prime section thread? Looks like troll, acts like a troll.... probably is a troll. -
then go work somewhere else...
You really should know your facts before you open your mouth. A student who hasn't even got on the bus...someone so desperate to get here at Prime he thinks recruiters should be at his beck and call, then trashes the recruiter and acts like a child taking his toys to the TMC playground... Where he pronounces that TMC was where he wanted to be all along.
now that a Prime recruiter has called you back your coming to work for us... What? No TMC
there is no "fee" for loan repayment. The loans are interest free, and no fees for the payment plan. The student loan is paid back at $25. The loan is optional for the student to live on. No one forces the student to take the money. They are only required to pay back what they take.
TWIC and Passport are required to work as a company driver. As is flatbed equipment. If you want to buy you own and bring it with you, then go ahead. It's condition of employment. Don't like it? Go elsewhere.
Get thru the school, get thru the training, and maybe then you'll be that prize you are so sure of that you think Prime will be so lucky to have.
There are dozens of guys each week like you, some don't make it past the Doc, some figure it's not for them and are gone before the test, or gone cause they can't pass the test, gone cause they cant handle TNT training... What's left ends up in their own truck. That group is maybe a handful or less of the group you will start with...
So maybe recruiter isn't a good title. Herder is more appropriate. they "herd" qualified applicants (or appear on paper to be qualified) thru the door.TICKLES, Charlami, Highway101 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You forgot one group that doesn't make it Chuck... all of the whining little mamas boys who can't stand being away from home for a couple of days. They tuck their tails between their legs and go crawl home. There are a lot more of them than anyone would believe... this is of course, after they present themselves as God's gift to trucking.
Highway101 Thanks this. -
and there are 2 types that don't make it past the Doc. The ones that have an underlying medical issue that they may or may not know about. And those that think that they can fool a whiz quiz. I feel bad-ish for the first set, and no pity at all for the second. After all, my daughter drives those roads, too.
Charlami, Highway101 and ironpony Thank this. -
OP,
Do you really think anybody here is privvy to Primes intentions ?
-
First Off, I never said I was gods gift to trucking in any way shape or form. I will be a newbie just like everyone else except for the fact that I have driven over the road just without the trailer tagging along so I know what it is going to be like and I had the toughest route there is as far as traffic being every major city from Raleigh NC north to Boston. As for health issues I have doing the physicals for truck driving since I was 21 years old for both DOT and heavy equipment so I doubt I am going to fail this one. And were you there to witness the run around I got with those recruiters??? NO, so you don't know anything about that and I don't expect anyone to be there at my beckoned call and I really don't give a crap what you do or don't believe or what you think of me. They gave me a run around and a half and even my original recruiter told me that what they did was not in any way right. And just for clarification, I went back to Prime because they pay well and they are right on my front door step. That whole post was pretty much a joke that struck wrong with some folks and for that I do apologize.
As far as me knowing I will make it.... well like I said, I have driven OTR, I have driven almost every tranny and engine out there from the gutless wonder dt466 that I just left to the big cats and Cummings and Transmissions I have experience with a lot aside from the 13 and 15's including the old 5 and 4 two stick. I spent 2 years loading egg trucks where we backed our own trucks into the docks and a lifetime of farming experience with various trailer backing over the years so I have a start there as well although that 2 years was the only 18 wheeler backing experience, I will also freely admit this was a fairly easy dock to back into aside from it being slightly off square to the backing lanes and I will also admit that this is where that my only accident in a truck occurred while backing blind side.
So yes I do believe I have more than a fair shot at making this work and as I have said before elsewhere it isn't a matter of can I, it is a matter of I am going to do this come hell or high water and not one super trucker is going to stand in my way while I do it. I have a ton of respect for the guys and gals out there that do this every day but I have no respect at all for those super truckers that think they are perfect and that no one else should move up into this work. If you don't like the fact that I am going to do this that's fine, just stay out of my way and I will stay out of yours, simple as that.
