Chesapeake is drilling like there is no tomorrow around Douglas. 6 and 8 wells per pad. They are also laying pipelines as quickly as they can.

Who are the big well service companies up there?

Halliburton, Schlumberger are the big two. Also see Key, and Cathedral.

TLeaHeart, is the drilling in the Niobrara shale or are the wells Coal Bed Methane? I worked in the Red Desert and the Jonah fields but I understand that its still slow in SE-WY and Rock Springs. Quality has a weekly ad on WY Craigslist for water haulers in Douglas.

I don't believe Key has any trucks up there, just work over rigs. Am I wrong about this?

I have seen that ad, and have not seen a single Quality truck.

Yes it is an oil/gas play into the niobrara shale. The CBM has died, since the price for methane is so low. Problem at this time is the increased production has outpaced the pipeline capacity to move the product out of state... So there are many rail loading stations being built.

You are correct about the Jonah field, and rock springs area, it did slow down.

Key has workover rigs and the trucks to support them, so you are correct. Many of these wells have a very high paraffin wax content, and need constant hot oiling, and workover rigs to keep them pumping.

    Ben Gunn Thanks this.
