I didn't pick up my copy of the RM until I finished training, when I had.funds. Your trainer will have a copy for you to use.

Regarding Next Stop, I rarely use it. I find the $6 Pocket Truck Stop Guide to much easier to use and I consult it several times a day.

Charlami and Lux Prometheus Thank this.

I'm not sure if it was just on sale or mispriced, but I saw the current deluxe Rand McNally at Love's for $29.99 a couple of weeks ago.

I bought mine at Loves for $30 with a $10 rebate making it $20. It was the current year, spiral and laminated. I run mostly local now but still use the same atlas from time to time. Its been to hell and back and still all together.

Also, depending on where you start your career, they may give you an atlas. They gave us one at Stevens although it wasnt laminated or spiral bound. Didnt last long but hey, it was free.

I just checked at Pilot and the deluxe version is $30, the standard is $10. Spring for the deluxe.

I bought the laminated version from Love's for $32 including tax. Someone from another thread suggested I get the laminated one then you can make notes or circle things with a dry erase marker. I thought it was a great idea. Mark

The spiral bound version is much more durable, especially with the heavy weight laminated pages. Seems like the paper bound version falls apart and pages start falling out within a few months of hard use. Nothing like trying to grab flying pages and putting back in sequence when you need to look at a map of Montana in a hurry... and duck tape is so hard to see through...
