Umm no sir, the law has not been passed, it is set for Sept 2013 and they will still give carriers 2 years to comply.
Anyone know about the eobr mandates coming?

What I want to know with the EOBR's is how is that going to work with trucks with mechanical motors? EOBR's requires an ecm motor. Are people going to be forced to take that classic with nothing wrong with it and either retrofit it with an electronic motor or is there going to be an exception to these trucks. I personally prefer the old mechanicals and older trucks and there are a lot of these trucks still on the road running and making money and are just as good of shape and running condition as a lot of these newer trucks and they have nowhere near the problems these new trucks have with all the emission junk. I know there are a lot of people in this forum that don't like the mechanicals and think they should be off the road and are quick to say its time to get with the times and go with newer trucks but to each his own. if you like the new trucks drive one and if you like the classics like I do then let me be.

And as Don Trucker said with the ever increasing overbearance of the Feds and their regulations that are crushing small businesses and making it harder and harder to succeed it is time for a revolution. Some people may like the cradle to grave ideology but I prefer to live my life as I see fit and to take responsibility for my actions. Live and let live.

Very good point. I will research that, I didn't know about the EOBR+ECM thing. I really have to check this out

yeah the EOBR's require an ecm. The EOBR is a black box that not only does elogs but downloads and saves everything from fuel usage to when the truck was in gear or parked and is no fooling it. that's what the government is pushing for. Elogs does not require an EOBR as that can be done through a cell phone app, a laptop, QUALCOMM ect ect. The government wants the EOBR over elogs because they want something fixed that cant be tampered with and stays with that particular truck.

Every single industry has had a political strike at some point, EXCEPT the trucking industry. Why? You know what they're saying..."Because they're just big dumb truck drivers" Are you a big dumb truck driver? Because I'm not, I am educated former teacher and a current business owner so I'm kind of offended by that thought.....
WHAT ABOUT YOU?Imelda, richierich723 and craggy1982 Thank this. -
I am not getting into an argument with you. Just go watch that video on youtube. You will see why I said what I said.

I heard parts of it on sat radio...I'm still not convinced a shut down wouldn't open the right eyes!
Can you imagine just 40% of truckers doing a 45 m.p.h.rolling road block? Lets say they put eobr's in every truck...ok then we want better rates! Bc their going to expect us to make less money bc we work less hours.
I don't care about an EOBR in my truck,as long as the revenue is ideal to make a decent living!!Imelda Thanks this. -
