    DreamChaser,
Hows your health now? Are you driving for Prime? I was recently diagnosed to type 2. I attended a class with a dietitian and a RN.
As a diabetic, your maximum daily carb intake should be no more that 120 to 150 grams.
    1 serving of carbs = 15 grams
    1 meal should be about 3 servings= 45 grams
Eat whole grain, high fiber, unprocessed foods are the best. If you have to replace couple of meals do it with Glucerna shakes. Incorporate exercise 3 or 4 times a week. I lost abofew LBS, my A1C is now 7.5. My doc i should shoot for 7.0.

Planning on going to Prime but studying for the test has been difficult, time and energy. Pre trip stuff is reading a foreign language. I have a technical degree but when it comes to understanding part of the trucks is boggling me.

I gave it a try the second time which was about 2 months ago and my blood sugar was at 121 when I checked 4am in the morning but that's because I had drink some green tea ( which really lowers my blood sugar ) and took my prescriptions but by the time I went to go take the physical my blood sugar was at 222. Then I took some more of prescriptions then 1 hour later they gave me another chance and found it at 202. The thing is I ate something in the morning and I think that was the reason why it went up so high. Prime sent me home and now im back working as a taxi driver. Now I still do plan on becoming a truck driver im just exercising and controlling my diet. Im planning to get my CDL on my own through Roadmaster driving school this year.

And by the way my A1C was around 14.4 so that's why any little thing I eat brings up my blood sugar. And the thing about me is I cant suffer. The permit test I passed all that on the first try and still got my class A permit. I renewed it after it had expired so now it will expire in January 2014. I was planning to add endorsements but the only one im interested in is Hazmat. Others not really. Pre-trip well I know a lot of the items because of egears.com I had print out the steps and also I had print out all the pre trip inspection list and the ones showing where the items at. If you take your time and learn it will come through

Im currently at Roadmaster and the next week will be my last week. Ive been doing really good and learned a lot. A lot of practicing and driving. I feel prepared to get to the training phase. Prime still on my mind and im having a hard time deciding whether I should go and try it again with Prime cause the only 2 companies that interest me right now is Stevens Transport and the reason why is because their training program and one of the most important things "tuition reimbursement". I really like Prime and I like how their program and everything works over there, I've always did but now I got a tuition payment I need to take care of, and Prime don't reimburse you that much so that lead me to 2 choices now. Its a tough decision but by next week before I head out, I should know. Im just planning to add hazmat once I complete training. Im always on the Prime section all the time, and Stevens, they're the only 2 companies Im looking at right now anyway. Which ever way works out for me I will be sticking with it for the first 3-5 years.
