I see... that is possible with a Surface Windows tablet because it has a keyboard. I have been trying to practice on these tablets at the stores but it is so awkward... :biggrin_25510: It takes me forever to do anything simple.... :biggrin_2552: I don't like touch screens... not even the one on the Qualcom... :biggrin_25513:

I found one wireless keyboard - Logitech - that can be used with any tablet but it's very basic, it doesn't have the mouse functionality.... so I was told...

Hey! Just found these 2 videos... How one can turn a simple Nexus tablet into a laptop. With a simple wireless mouse and a keyboard.... Cool!! :biggrin_25519:

And even with a USB mouse...

I will head to another store tomorrow with my old mouse here and see what I can get... :yes2557:

If you're in the Atlanta area and can stand a little out of route mileage go somewhere else than Best Buy. There's a Micro Center and a Fry's off Pleasant Hill Rd exit 104 I-85N. Both wouldn't be too bad to get into with a big truck and trailer. If you go directly to Fry's off the freeway, take Satellite Blvd around the back of the mall to get in there.

As an extra bonus, both are near a truck friendly Walmart supercenter.

like redformen says. if you want to find out anything. THE INTERNET IS YOUR FRIEND. cuz best buy DON'T KNOW JACK. never have, never will.

circuit city had there employees TRAIN on the products they sell. best buy don't.

i helped my aunt buy a acer iconia a200 tablet from bestbuy. it has a gps chip. best buy said no such thing exists. and they don't sell it. they eventually brought the product out. but still disagreed. and eventually kicked us out. would not even let us buy the thing.

we went home. i ordered online for pickup at a different location. my aunt has EXACTLY what best buy says don't exist or that they sell. and it was purchased from best buy.

how the american people let circuit city go down and best buy stay around is beyond me. circuit city KNEW what they sold. and went out of there way for customer service. best buy does not care. and no have clue about there products or customer service.

Thank you snowwy... interestingly, yesterday I got more info from a customer at Best Buy than from the sales lady... Sales lady was a little arrogant, kinda ####y and didn't help me at all. I haven't bought anything at Best Buy for a very long time and don't think I will this time.

Circuit City paid their sales people on commission, Best Buy does not. No incentive at all to do a good job or know anything useful.

Speaking of commission sales, another excellent stop for tablets (or major appliances, or kitchen gear, or CD/DVD's, or small electronics, or...) in Atlanta or many locations in FL is Brandsmart. Most of the appliances in my home came from the Doraville store just off I-285 exit 31A (GA-141). Their sales people are on commission and they negotiate, at least on major appliances. They tend to be a little aggressive, but will usually leave you alone if you ask. There's just a lot of them prowling around.

I'm pretty sure Microcenter also pays sales commissions. Those guys will just about tackle you to get their sticker on your purchase before you reach the register. Fry's I'm not sure about, but what their sales people lack in enthusiasm is made up for with the huge store and big inventory. If you're worried about warranty service, I think both these chains have locations nationwide.

just out of curiosity. what's the different between google on tablet and phone???? google just updated the maps. and it now provides different best routes.

i have a cheap radio shack tablet but i never use it. let alone checked out google on it. since it don't have a gps chip.

Hey Foreman... thank you very much for the info... I am not in a truck... and not in Atlanta... Was going to Office Depot nearby to check on their tablets and see if I could use it with my mouse... but couldn't find my old mouse... :biggrin_2557: Got second thoughts... Not sure I will buy a tablet yet. I have 2 laptops and a Verizon card for the internet.

there's a Microcenter in Dallas..actually in Richardson on Us75 and one in Houston. Although they get paid on commission, therefore the little stickers, at least all the salespeople I've talked to knew what they were selling.
