To the OP, if you are working out of Williamsport and headed north on 15, the Turkey Ranch restaurant on rt 15 has really good food. Over on rt 14 on south side of Canton is a fuel station with truck parking and pretty good food. Also a mom and pop fuel station on 15 at Liberty. All these places have pretty good food but none have showers......pay was well above average until Schneider showed up and Shell got sick of paying demurrage...nowadays its like any other job, nothing special.
tobiasrook Thanks this. -
Negative on everything. Not even a resident of our fine state. Going in blind. But it's a respected local company opposite of you mentioned and i never guessed past post . We are just unsure of exact pay. Respecting his private informationLast edited: Aug 26, 2013

Either way......(definitely not with the orange) heading up Friday to get set-up then off to the fields Saturday...Guess what I was looking for and yet to get an answer too is...what can I expect as a paycheck on average....what is a bad check ....whats the best check you've seen vs the hours you put in....looking to get that kinda of info and overall lifestyle up there....

I would hope it's over $700 per week. But it's not unusual to stutter at the start as you're worked into the pre-existing schedule.
When I started at my place I was lucky to have 4 days on in a week, and my worst checks were under $400 for TWO weeks.
But I stuck with it and now I'm making much more now.
Also high turnover forced the boss to start offering time & a half O/T.
Which worked out well for me because I do a lot of work other drivers turn up their noses at.tobiasrook Thanks this. -
The pay is % plus detention.....I do know if I don't make "decent money" then I'd have no choice but to reconsider my options...I cant bring myself to live in a truck for pennies.....I'm not unrealistic yet there has to be a happy medium..As far as I feel about it...I'm giving ALOT of my time and taking away from my family time to earn money for a company...in return I expect fairness and compensation...Not gold but alot of silver would be nice...I'm pretty laid back and don't get excited much....Guess just hoping I made the write decision for the right reasons that will pay off in the long run

Why are you not saying who exactly it is you're working for? It's either RAM, W.W. Sell, Dana, Modern, Frac Tech, Cal-Frac, or one of the few independents leased on to those bigger companies. If you hauled water for frac you should have a good idea what you're getting in to. You're probably looking at an average of 15-20 an hour for demurrage pay, and anywhere from 23%-30% on the loads hauled.
Fracing in western PA is hit or miss, I think you'll see a transition into Ohio in the near future. I'm sure a lot will depend on who you're fracing for as well, Range, Chesapeake, Chevron? There's so many variables that no one can give you all the answers, go give it a shot and see what you think. I personally wouldn't want to be stuck in a truck for 2-3 weeks on a frac site in PA, but to each his own. -
I don't say who I signed on with simply because I don't want too.....I rather enjoy my life by doing what I want to not what other people think I should do....I by no means direct that as a disrespectful remark just a direct statement....

You might make most of your money from detention then. Hope it's a good enough rate.

Yet that is what I'm trying to find out.....What is the average pay overall for sand can haulers in PA......Just an average...is it 100 per load avg, 150 per load avg etc or 500 wk, 800 wk, 1000 wk..I understand the variables...Hauling water pays different then sand....with water i was hourly with OT....with sand it's 26% plus detention pay.....
I was hoping that with soooo many drivers that come to this site would have an idea...
