I use the Plantronics as well. I cant stand wearing a head set with a boom mic. But like you, I go through about 2 a year. I think my problem is that when I sweat it gets into the unit and degrades the quality. I know when my wife starts complaining that I sound like I'm in a fish bowl its time to buy another one.

Thing is that I know its something I'm doing because my wife has had hers for 2 yrs with no problems.

What I've done lately was to buy one from Best Buy and pay the extra $17 for replacement insurance so I dont have to pay full price for another one when it goes bad.

I tried the Blue Parrot. I dont see how you guys can wear that all day. I like the completely hands free with voice control that the Plantronics has. Plus I can hear perfectly clear no matter how loud things are around me. I never have a problem with battery. Takes about 45 mins to fully charge from when it says 'battery low'. Says 7 hours talk time. But I have used it sometimes 2 days in a row with out issue. I typically make/receive between 20 - 30 calls a day.

I wish there was something as nice as the Plantronics.. only a little more durable like you said.
