I think I had that trailer for awhile once lol

ah the things they don't teach you in school lol I've had to keep the vise grips handy on a lot of those 5's.......and really annoying when some moron puts a ( not big enough ) bolt in the bypass on the slider.....this one I drug around for a week and a half was like that......had to use the vise grips on it too cause I had to pull the bar out past the detent to get the pins fully retracted cause some dummy put too small a bolt in the bypass and then it wouldn't pull the pins all the way in......and was rusted enough I couldn't get it loose and get it out. this one is a real annoying one.....if they knew their equipment they'd know just because the pins don't retract when you pull the bar on these trailers doesn't mean the air isn't working. the pins are just bound up. but no, they immediately shove something in the bypass then it's more trouble than it was to start with. saw a guy in Elizabeth doing that once and I stopped him and asked him why. well, the pins won't go in. told him to just get in there and rock it 1/8 to 1/4 inch and poof......in they go. I admit to doing the same thing after I went solo......for a month.....then I realized how the system works. just pull the bar and rock it a tiny bit and the pins go in. no need to put a bolt in the bypass and then have to lock the bar out too far cause you can't get the pins all the way in at the detent.

got a strange one this time.....it's a 6 with the tandems from a 5 under it. got the pull bar on the front and not the button. and of course, bypass with a bolt in it. at least this one I could get the bolt out. pull the bar, tap the clutch and smooth as butter.

did you guys see the note on the door at the fuel island saying to drop all empty 53800 and up and 54's down at the pond to assist a customer in growing and existing operation? wonder who's getting the junk lol

bumped the dock in Lakeland tonight with 0:02 on the clock. been a long day

well you DO look like an I-95 kind of guy hehehehe

sometimes i'll have 2-3 weeks where I can't get off 95........but luckily I've been running the south end of it since I've been in the new truck and not really been north of Richmond but twice in the last few weeks......feels strange not being up that far......the down side of that is i'm feeling the absence of the NE pay as well since I haven't been up that far in awhile.

that Elizabeth run isn't a bad one.......but I usually get it out of Perryville.......with the layover pay that you don't get out of Danville. easy getting in and easy parking at the dock.....and I usually just sit in the dock till I get my load out in the morning. I do notice some of the guys parking in the lot across the street when their empty but last time I was there I saw the local bears messing with anyone parked over there both the night before and the morning after

Sounds like a major PITA of which I have no experience having gone Tanker since day 1. Never slid a tandem. The trade off is you guys don't have much reason to walk around on top of the trailer which is a daily occurrence for me.

i had a prett much wasted day today....got 250 out of Lakeland for a live load in davenport to you guessed it, a live unload in Miami.....at 8am no less.......so that I can get 950 back up to colonial heights......so I did the red light hell down 27 with 43k of sugar in the box and made absolutely no progress and ended up with only 169 miles for the day

let's see......unload 8am in Miami and then 8 miles to the next shipper that doesn't load until 1300 and no parking at either cons or shipper. does not compute does not compute. when you know there's absolutely NOWHERE to park down here but schedule 5hrs between the unload and the load it just defies the imagination what part of planning isn't registering. that should be fun.

also fun is the dreaded 'no directions for the customer of this stop' for the cons in the morning. getting ready to sit down with the maps and plan my way in. just the prelim look at the maps doesn't look like any real good way to get there from here coming in from the west side and the route suggestion is pretty much useless the last 20 miles in.

after I figure out how to get out of this pos truckstop in south bay. i'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to come in the way I did and looks like the out might be one way in the wrong direction. will have to get out and walk over there and look before it gets dark. decided to just go on and stop here because I didn't want to pay to park around Miami.....and sure as hell wasn't going to the other one farther down on 27 after the crabby old bag there wanted to charge me $10 to park just to get out long enough to piss last time I was down here. I just walked by her into the bathroom and walked right back by her and drove right on out.

i'll take the dc right about now lol at least I know of some places to park in and around there

hmmmmm......gotta be prime i'd think lol

at least I can get out of here in the right direction. got out the binoculars and scoped out the exit and there's a crossover to go back south. but not to get in.....even though I got in from that direction lol. how much sense does it make to have a truckstop you can only get into if you're going north?

about as much sense as these truckstops that all the spots are blindsides. duh. that's just asking for trouble. why they do that i'll never know.

I can't think of anything in the Roanoke area that we have where you could drop. Greensboro is probably the closest unless there's something I don't know about.......and there are plenty of those.....seems like every month or so I find out about another drop lot somewhere lol maybe one of the other guys can weigh in on this one
