U have group of ground wires FT. lower fire wall {petals)
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -
are you talking in cab by pedals or engine compartment?
-
tested twisted wires #401/402 from ECM to firewall.good.while driving cummins insite reads vehicle speed correctly.5 pin connector on back of cluster shows ground on #5 white wire.any help?
-
Can you see MPG reading on small display?
really this instrumental cluster is not fully digital like on version-2. First of all no VECU, becouse Celect+ ECM cant be controlled by J1939, so J1708 is used, but as datalink only.
If you cant use display to enter Engine ECM is diagnostic menu, plz check it, becouse with fault datalink all systems like engine ECM, ECAS, ABS keep working w/o any faul lamp -
i can enter all diagnostics on screen.am able to all tests, read all parameters.found 401/402 next to fuse panel that are open wires with nothing connected.looks like maybe had qualcomm connected at one time.should these wire be open?i cant see where they might go to.

can dash speedometer head be bad even if gauges sweep o.k. during diagnostic self test?
-
Sometimes the dash connector in the back goes bad it has happened to me a lot of times with the abs and also datalink systems maybe u have a bad connection between dash and connector that could be a ##### to figure out if u can replace the termjnals and see what happens ive had it happen to be a lot of tines with 99 to 01 volvos its a ##### to figure out to
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -
yep, it is possible, becouse small display (Volvo calls it Drver's Display) outputs analogue data to speedometer.
HopeOverMope Thanks this. -
BTW, on some trucks (generally before '98) analogue speedometers were used. So look for 550-551 wires connected to dashboard. I remeber old volvos with two VSS ore VSS with four wires, one pair to ECM, other to speedometer
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this.
