Has anybody here driven for Gulfmark in South Texas?
What were your experiences? Best and worst things about hauling crude for this particular company?
Thanks.

Hey - I drive for Gulfmark out of Corpus Christi. Been with them for 2 1/2 years and loving every minute of it.
Best thing is my supervisor and the pay - worst thing is they have Ryder Leasing do their maintenance.
Have a great day!Chibob Thanks this. -
Do you get a loaner while you're getting a PM or do you have to wait 5 hours? I have dealt with Ryder in the past.
-
We do slip seating - the PM's are scheduled when the day drivers are off. If your truck goes down during your shift the dispatcher will attempt to find you a truck to drive. Since I've worked there I've only had a few occasions that there wasn't a replacement truck. When that happens I'll take a vacation day.
What area are you looking at for work? -
I plan on moving to Corpus Christi at the end of this month.
-
I'm not sure if we're hiring here - last time I knew we were full. Have you filled out an application?
-
I am looking at a few options in Corpus Christi. Probably Sun Coast or Sunoco.
-
Ok - good luck

I hope the Ryder shop is CC is better than the one in San Antonio. That's not a very high bar to clear.
BTW, I LOVED Portland when I lived there. We will be moving back after our kids graduate high school. Yes, I know G-P is a great school, but we don't want to uproot our kids. -
Any idea what their requirements are?
