I always sing this song at a shipper
" it's a honey of an -O -
It's honey nut Cheerios ...
You get more accomplished with a good attitude , problem solving while good sometimes comes off as being hateful . I tend to let a problem be handled by a customer, while keeping a good attitude , Now if they ask my advise I lend my thoughts on the situation .
& no I don't actually sing that song .. Lol

im pretty sure if he was a fraud then his privileges would have been revoked here along time ago . Moral to the story you have to back a claim like that up , with 2 posts it will be safe to say you have an ax to grind of some sort
i have spoke to bbb several times and I can tell you he's helped me make some decisions in my own business . I would have to contest the claim of fraud .
Bbb puts out lots of useful information on this forum and has helped several owner opps expand or stream line their business'sLady K Thanks this. -
I'm not an o/o. But I can tell anyone who wants to listen that having the right attitude truly does make all the difference. My first full time driving job is a prime example. The first dispatcher I had was awesome. I made great money and got home every weekend. We became good friends, and that friendship continues today. But through unfortunate circumstances, I ended up with a new dispatcher after a great 1 1/2 year's. The new dispatched and I did not mesh well, as I was a 28 year old know it all. Paychecks got pretty meager after I referred to her as a b#### to her husband. (Not knowing they were married). Anyway, I left that company and landed where I'm at now with a new mindset. I work at a very small company and the owner can be very stubborn at times. But we have great equipment, and get paid rather well. There was a very very low turnover rate and a waiting list to get hired. ( I waited nearly a year before I was hired). Now that some are retiring, we started hiring again recently. I've seen about five guys come and go and only one stayed. The reason? Their ATTITUDE! The ones who didn't make it were the whiners and complainers....the ones who make it here have a positive mindset and don't complain when they get crappy loads. They take the good with the bad. Everybody has a bad week now and then, but w take the good with the bad. Working for a small company such as this has its perks. But to whom much is given, much is expected. We work hard, very hard. But we play harder here. Its a two way street. You work hard and get the prize or you complain about everything and you eventually get a pink slip.

I live by the old aaying of "you get what you give x2". Give me crap, I'm simply gonna return the favor twice as bad. Give me respect and I'll give you twice as much. There is a level for professionalism and good attitude but there will come a time no matter who you are that you will have to break your silence and good attitude.

I agree that attitude makes a huge difference in whatever you are doing. I hire a lot of younger (high school and college age) kids to run equipment in my custom farming biz in the summer and I always tell them before they start they can have fun or be miserable, the choice is theirs. The work is the same either way, it's their attitude that decides. I've seen it many times. I have experienced many blessings from a positive attitude, from DOT to shippers to dispatchers to fuel desk cashiers. Ask yourself, "Am I being the kind of person I would want to deal with?"

Good thread, a good attitude has had people to stay late and unload me that night rather then the next morning. It has got me loaded or unloaded before others with lesser attitudes, it has given me a couple small breaks with dot. It has given me extra money for going the extra mile and not complaining. It has given me opportunities others don't get and can't figure out why. I'm only two years into trucking and pull a skateboard and love it and I really love it when my attitude rewards me with perks that other drivers don't get

i didnt read the thread, but yeah i got an attitude...
you have a problem with that???
...just kidding....sorry. sometimes i post the first thing that pops into my mind when i read a title....
BigBadBill and truckon Thank this. -
You only get one chance to make a first impression. Trite, but true. If you look and act like the back end of a mule, people will not want to do business with you. If, on the other hand, you look and act like a professional with proper courtesy and behavior, folks will be banging your door down to give you more business.
Flies, honey, vinegar and all that jazz. You make the choice everyday to have a good attitude or a bad one. Everything in your world can go wrong, but you can still have a good attitude. Everything in your world can go right, and you can still screw it up with a bad attitude. Make the choice, be the victim, or be the survivor. Let everything beat you down, or rise above and beat the buggers back down. It all comes down to what YOU choose to do.
