LTL P/D for me. Mon - Fri, no nights, sleep in my own bed every single night and paid by the hour. Hard work but I enjoy it.

I love pulling a chemical tanker. You have to do some work outside of the truck, but nothing compared to flatbeds. The trailer is only 42 feet long, so turns are less of a hassle. The load is constantly moving in the tank, therefore it is a fun challenge, in my opinion, to keep it under control. The pay is among the highest in the industry...and I am not referring to Prime or Schneider. Overall, I love it, but it is not for everyone. If you are afraid of heights, don't even consider it. You have to be on top of that trailer every day. Good luck to you, and I hope this helped.

I second the chemical tankers. Good money, usually average $65K which is pretty standard nationwide. Some fuel haulers do much better. Chemical tanker/hazmat I really like. No grocery warehouses or lumper services, shippers & receivers glad to see you. Takes about an hour to unload, then you're rolling down the highway again.

Flatbed is my second favorite. I enjoyed flatbed, good pay and job satisfaction. Never considered flatbedding as being hard work, because I enjoyed it.
