My pleasure. The only thing that would make me happier would be more locations. The ones that are open, and are opening soon, is a good thing for this spoiled truck driver, but for me more is better. Maybe not as big of a network like the previous go around, but something in between. Thanks for stopping in, keep up the good work.

    IdleAir Thanks this.

Does your truck have to be set up for idle air or can anyone use it and how much does it cost? I have to have a cpap machine and if I do not have to truck running or some other way to charge batteries I am afraid it will drain them.

Theonly thing you need is a window adapter that is truck specific for the make you are driving. Every Idleair station has an attendant on duty. They will get you set up the first time. After that its a walk in the park. For just the air/heat it's $2.13 per hour.

Thank you for the info. I am currently in a 2007 Freightliner Columbia but the mechanics are saying at the beginning of the year we are supposed to get new Cascadia's. We shall see and then we go from there.

How do you get a window adapter?

This is correct. It's $10 for the adapter but they give you a $10 credit on your account as a new customer.

    popcorn169 and IdleAir Thank this.

I got my 2 drops off and was done at 1:30 yesterday afternoon. I went to the yard and dropped my trailer with the last drop on it that a local driver was going to deliver this morning. I got a load off the yard that was going to Maine that didn't deliver until Thursday and met a driver in Milford Ct this morning who was out of hours and switched loads with him. I took his load and am sitting in Warwick RI waiting to deliver first thing in the morning. I'm a little pissed right now, I've had to reschedule my home time twice now in the last week, it isn't a real big issue, just enough to irritate me a little. Meanwhile, I found a mistake on my last pay period, I was double charged $190 for a lumper fee. I thought my check seemed a little light last pay period, but I was on my way out west and wasn't able to go over my pay voucher until I picked it up at the yard yesterday. At 9am I called and left a message with payroll and at 10:30 I got a message back it was corrected and that it will be on my pay this coming Friday. Only the second minor mistake in the five months here, at the last place I couldn't go 5 days without a major screw up.

JohnBoy, we hear you! "More locations" has been the #1 request from customers, and that's been our focus. We'll be opening our first location in Louisiana (at the Cash's in Port Allen, LA) later this month. Then we're opening at the Flying J in Laredo, TX. Soon after, we'll have 3 new locations in OH. And there's more to come after that!

Our goal is to get to about 100 locations at the most important locations. Just like you said, it's a little smaller than the old IdleAire network, but about 65 more sites than we operate now.

    JohnBoy Thanks this.

Bumper and JohnBoy are both correct - you can buy an adapter at any IdleAir location. It costs $10, but then there's an instant $10 credit - so the adapter is really "free". If you switch to a new truck, bring in your old adapter and we'll swap it for one that fits your new truck - and it's totally FREE.

IdleAir has over 500 fleet customers. Many of these companies pay for window adapters and IdleAir service for their drivers. Give us a call at 877-738-7024, and we can find out if your company pays for you to use IdleAir.
