Yes. You gotta do 5 minute on-duty load checks.

 

Ok we'll for the last 4 months I've been doing it off duty the way my trainer showed me

 

even on paper ya dont have to show a break in duty status just flag location so im not understanding where your getting must be 5min. ?????

 

That might be a Maverick requirement... I thought I remember them saying something about that when I was in flatbed training. DOT only requires you to flag a load check, but I think Maverick requires that you take at least 5 minutes and actually DO a load check.

I'm not 100% sure on that though. But if it was me, I'd log 5 mins at least and actually do the check. You never know when actually doing it may save your butt if a chain fails or something.

 

Or in your case, a Chicken could get loose.

 

If a dead chicken in my truck gets loose, that's someone else's problem. I draw the line at capturing reincarnated McNuggets. NOT in my job description.

 

I'm getting that from going through Maverick training. I was also told that by my FM today.

Backed into door 2 today....it a little more tricky than door 1. I will now refer to Pittsburgh as "the city which we don't speak of"

 

yeah those little dumpsters they put out front of the doors make it really hard to see the corner of your trailer as it gets close to the door.
